I'm Rakeru Sensei, a BJD face-up artist based in Spain. I paint custom faces for resin dolls, from soft natural looks to fantasy elves, vampires and little creatures.

Every face-up is handmade: lashes, freckles, piercings, tiny leaves on a pointed ear. I only work on original dolls (no recasts) and I open 15 to 20 commission slots every month.

Under the name ラケル (rakeru) I also draw: gouache paintings, sketches, keychains and bullet journal pages.

Terms & conditions

  • I don't work on recast dolls or counterfeits, only original dolls.
  • I don't copy other artists' work, so please keep this in mind when sending your reference pictures.
  • Changes can't be made, so please be clear in your description.
  • This is a handmade work. Slight imperfections or asymmetries may exist.
  • Working times are always an estimation. I work on several orders at the same time, so thank you for your understanding.
  • I work from Monday to Friday. I may not answer mail during weekends or festive days.
  • IMPORTANT: I will share just 2 progress moments during the painting process. Changes on the description won't be accepted once the order has been started. Adding extras will be charged. I have a schedule on every commission and it is very important to me to accomplish these rules.
  • From now on I can't take care of customs fees, so they will be paid by the customer.
  • Using a face mask is mandatory. If you don't have one I can sell them (price around 3 euros).

How to order

If you are interested in commissioning, please send a DM to check availability. I open from 15 to 20 slots every month. If slots are not open yet, I will add you to my waiting list to contact you as soon as I can.

To book a place officially, I charge 25 euros per head as a reservation fee. This price will be discounted from the final quote. This fee won't be returned if the customer retreats, so please only serious buyers. I can consider little layaways if the order is huge. DM for more info.

IMPORTANT!! I ask for payment at the beginning of the commission, right after asking your description for the face-up. Please be ready to pay punctually.

Once I start an order it takes 1–2 weeks to be ready.

About shipping

Due to recent changes in Correos' tariffs and services, I can no longer use the same shipping methods as before. Shipping costs are now calculated and paid at the end of each commission, depending on the client's location and needs.

Within Europe, I prioritize services such as InPost where available. For shipments outside Spain, especially to the United States, I use Correos Express, and UPS can be arranged upon request. Please note that these options may be more expensive, but they offer greater reliability and guarantees.

International shipping may arrive with a customs or VAT tax.
